Maple Hurls No-Hitter Against Supernovas
Tuesday, July 19th , 2044
In a dominant outing, Dogwood Maple of the Indianapolis Apex totally silenced the bats of the Sarasota Supernovas, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Apex' 16-0 victory, Maple faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 7 strikeouts and 3 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Indianapolis manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Apex had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Maple pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season Maple has gone 6-5 with an ERA of 2.79, posting 90 strikeouts in 103.1 innings.
