McGuire Keeps Hit Streak Alive Tuesday, August 1st , 2045 The California Firehawks fell to the Brew City Bears in The House That Pancakes Built today, even as 20-year-old first baseman Stubby McGuire upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. McGuire finished with 1 hit in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Firehawks from dropping the 5-4 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said McGuire. Stubby McGuire flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th. Thus far this year McGuire has hit .342 with 6 home runs and 41 RBIs. |
