Getting a good performance from catcher Chorizo McTater, the Amarillo Armadillos defeated the State College Swift Steeds , 7-4. McTater went 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs for the Armadillos. The Armadillos improved their record to 35-42 by beating State College.

It could have been a different outcome for Amarillo, had it not been for Beau Mathews, the 21-year old designated hitter . Mathews contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Amarillo up, 5-3.

"Enjoyed this one," Mathews told the Amarillo Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
