The California Firehawks got a superb performance from pitcher Thor Lore. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Florida. The Flamingos won the game, 5-4. Lore threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The Flamingos saw their win-loss record go to 38-39. At the same time, the Firehawks fell to 46-31.
Florida needed the clutch hitting of Mark Honcho to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 5-4. For the game, Honcho had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Honcho said.
