The Brew City Bears picked up a win at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium, knocking off the State College Swift Steeds , 11-4. Starting pitcher Ryan Alvarez played a key role in the triumph. Alvarez got the win, improving to 8-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Alvarez allowed no runs. Brew City has won 5 consecutive games.
The State College Swift Steeds had some chances. With State College trailing 11-0 in the bottom of the 9th, Kota Mizushima hit a grand slam home run. But it was too little too late for the Swift Steeds . State College manager said afterward that his team would learn from this latest defeat.
