Decantour Delivers Walk-Off Win for Kingpins
|
The Kingpins grabbed a win, 5-3, at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Anchorage pitcher Warren Peace. Peace went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Chicago reliever Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Kip Treadwell was tagged with the loss. Even with the win, the Kingpins have a dismal 26-51 record.
Chicago won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Reed Rothchild on the mound for Anchorage, left fielder Lee Decantour hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Kingpins fans to their feet.
"Winning never gets dull," said Decantour.
