Hepcats Make Wheelers 5-2 Losers
|
The Kansas City Hepcats faced a tough opponent in Anchorage pitcher Thunder Miller, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo by a final score of 5-2. Miller went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Wheelers, now 40-37, have lost 4 straight.
Had Robin Quincy not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Quincy hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Hepcats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Quincy told the Kansas City Chronicle.
