Due in large part to catcher Dusty Backstop, the State College Swift Steeds sunk the Anchorage Wheelers, 9-7. Backstop was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. With the win, the Swift Steeds have a record of 42-36.

Cai Brummer came through with a big-time hit for State College. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 8-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

State College manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
