Wheelers Win, 6-1, Versus Flamingos
|
Anchorage picked up a win at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo, toppling the Florida Flamingos, 6-1. Pitcher Jake Mitchell Jr. was one of the reasons the Wheelers triumphed. The winning pitcher was Mitchell Jr., now 3-7. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. The third-place Wheelers improved to 42-36.
The Wheelers got a big at-bat from left fielder Jordan Lee. For the game, Lee went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave Anchorage a 2-0 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Lee.
