Hepcats 4-2 Victors Over Anchorage
|
The Anchorage Wheelers got a sterling performance from left fielder Logan Wetzel, but the Kansas City Hepcats still prevailed, 4-2. Wetzel went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Sir Devoir, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 5-8. The Hepcats go to 32-46 with the win.
Kansas City center fielder Ambidextrous LaRue contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 66th hit of the season and put the Hepcats ahead, 3-1.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Anchorage manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
