Crisp Pops Two Homers in 9-4 Win for Amarillo
|
Amarillo took on State College in front of a lively crowd.
The 9-4 Amarillo win over State College was due in large part to Jesus Crisp. The Armadillos catcher slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Robert Smith was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. Sasha Sinitarraa, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities.
Dante Gorganzola's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Amarillo. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Amarillo leading 5-4, the third baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
Amarillo is now 35-43, while State College is 23-55.
