Flamingos Stun Firehawks, 5-3
|
Florida and California duked it out and the Flamingos came out victorious.
Florida starter Stu Macher had a strong outing against the California Firehawks at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The victory gives the Flamingos a record of 39-39.
The Flamingos got an important contribution from designated hitter Mark Honcho, who in the top of the eighth punched a full count cutter into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 4-2.
"We did a lot of things right," said Macher.
