Macintosh Thwarts Kansas City, 1-0
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, Roomba Macintosh of the Anchorage Wheelers shot down the Kansas City Hepcats, 1-0, on 1 hit.
"Roomba was just locating so well and using his pitches," Anchorage manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Macintosh recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Kansas City manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Macintosh has compiled an ERA of 4.09 so far this season, winning 8 games with 6 losses and 3 saves. In 12 relief appearances he has hurled 101.1 innings, yielded 113 hits and struck out 64. Opposing hitters have batted .282 against Macintosh.
