Swift Steeds Hand Florida 6-1 Loss
|
State College pitcher Antonio Abner did his part in helping his team defeat the Florida Flamingos, 6-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Abner, now 5-7, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The Swift Steeds raised their record to 36-44.
Emidas Blair, who is tied for 6th in the MiLPBE in doubles with 14, took Florida hurler Moe Mentum deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Swift Steeds on top, 4-1. In all, Blair had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said State College manager .
