Abel Slugs Hepcats to 7-4 Win
|
The Kansas City Hepcats beat the Puerto Rico Ranas, 7-4, at Center for Kansas City Kids That Can't Read Good. Kansas City third baseman Nathan Abel had the hot bat. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Bendrick Hollows got the win, improving to 7-7. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The Hepcats have an impressive 49-31 record.
With Kansas City trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Abel hit a fastball from Jean Girard [BOT] for a 2-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Hepcats ahead, 4-3.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Puerto Rico manager .
