Taylor Powers Swift Steeds Offense
|
The State College Swift Steeds cut down the Louisville Lemurs by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Brian Taylor. Taylor was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Swift Steeds . Karma Police [BOT], now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Communist Daughter [BOT] earned his 4th save in 5 chances.
Taylor had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from Ryan Scott, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Swift Steeds a 6-5 lead. It was the 13th double of the year for Taylor.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Taylor told the State College Observer.
The Swift Steeds saw their record improve to 43-37.
