Swift Steeds Need Extra Innings to Top Armadillos, 4-3
|
The State College Swift Steeds overcame a good performance by Amarillo third baseman Commander Warsmoke to knock off Amarillo, 4-3, at The Burrow Presented by the PBE Bigger Strange Pod. Warsmoke went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. State College reliever Aidan Wyatt got the win, raising his record to 1-3. Calm Chicken was tagged with the loss. The third-place Swift Steeds sport a record of 34-46.
State College used the timely hitting of J.C. Tomlin to capture the win. The right fielder socked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Swift Steeds ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Tomlin said.
