Firehawks Win 4-1 Walk-Off
|
The California Firehawks took Kansas City pitcher Wombat Jones's best shot and still were able to claim a win at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons. The final score had California getting past the Hepcats, 4-1. Jones went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 3. Reliever Dusty Conkling picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Hector Rocha was the walk-off hero for California. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Firehawks third baseman hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Kansas City manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
