California Beats Brew City, 6-3

The California Firehawks topped the Brew City Bears, 6-3, in Minor League PBE action at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The game was highlighted by the performance of California pitcher Dr. Hubert Malbec. Malbec yielded 3 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 9-8. David Sears was credited with the save for California, his 3rd of the season.
Coleman Carver, the California right fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to make the score 5-2, Firehawks. For the game, Carver went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
Malbec called the win "a team effort."
California is now 43-39, Brew City 44-38.
