Kingpins Rack Up 9-2 Win Versus Florida
|
No one was more impactful than Gumby Phillips in the 9-2 Chicago win over Florida. Phillips, who is tied for 7th in the MiLPBE in bases on balls with 51, went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The second-place Kingpins have won 4 consecutive games.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Tank Fromas to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Kingpins ahead, 6-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Phillips told a local reporter after the game.
