The Cancun Toros picked up a win at El Coliseo de los Toros, taking down the New Orleans Rougarous, 10-1. Starting pitcher Ermah Gerd was a big reason why. Ryan Negs closed the game out for Cancun, earning his 7th save. Cancun improves to 35-29 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.

The Toros got a big hit from designated hitter John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt. In the bottom of the fifth, Jingleheimer Schmidt pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 18th home run of the season put the Toros ahead, 8-0.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Gerd said.
