Cowgill Selected July's Top Newcomer

Pitcher John Cowgill of the Cancun Toros was the outstanding rookie in the Champions Conference last month and today the league selected him as the Rookie of the Month trophy winner.
In July his record was 1-0 with a 0.51 ERA and 19 strikeouts in 17.2 innings.
Taking a look at this year, John Cowgill has made 24 relief appearances, recorded 5 saves and compiled a 4-0 won-lost mark and a 2.30 ERA. In pitching 43 innings, he has totaled 45 strikeouts and 15 walks.

July's #1 Rookie Named by Legends

Peter Dawson III earned July's Rookie of the Month honors in the Legends Conference for last month's performance. The boyish Toronto first baseman might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.
Dawson III hit .260 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.
Thus far this year Dawson III has hit .218 with 14 home runs and 37 RBIs.

Scorpions Starter Wins Champions Pitching Award

When Billy TheKid takes the hill, he usually takes command of the game -- at least that's the way it was in July. The outcome was usually a Death Valley victory. His fine 4-0 performance earned him the Champions Conference Pitcher of the Month trophy.
The talented Scorpions hurler made 5 starts, worked 31.1 innings, permitted 13 base hits, and struck out 30 while putting up a 1.15 ERA.
So far this season TheKid has a 8-4 record with a 2.80 ERA.
