Seattle left fielder Jim Hawkins helped his team beat the Death Valley Scorpions, 6-3. Hawkins, who is tied for 4th in the Champions in RBI with 14, went 2 for 2 for the Sea Serpents. Losses have been few and far between for the Scorpions, now 9-4.
Hawkins had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Guy Roussy, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Sea Serpents a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Hawkins.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Hawkins.
