Sloths Topple Aviators with Late Rally
|
The San Antonio Sloths overcame a good performance by Outer Banks left fielder Patrick Eshenbaugh to knock off Outer Banks, 8-5, at The Island. Eshenbaugh went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Liru Wolf in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Zach Voss took the loss. With the win, San Antonio has a record of 43-38. Outer Banks falls to 34-47.
San Antonio needed the clutch hitting of Stetson Laramie to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sloths on top, 7-5. For the game, Laramie had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Laramie told the San Antonio Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
