The Death Valley Scorpions beat the Indianapolis Apex, 7-2. Death Valley pitcher and Boston, Massachusetts, native Billy TheKid led the way. In 7 innings, TheKid surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Death Valley is now 46-22, 4½ games up in the Champions Conference West.

Bass Reeves, who finished 5th in the Champions in batting average with .309 last year, aided the Death Valley cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
