The rain did not keep Vancouver and Providence from finishing their game.
The Vancouver Vandals defeated the Providence Crabs, 8-2, in Legends Conference action at The Pot. Pierre Phillip pulled his weight. The 8-year veteran went 2-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Vandals lead the Legends Conference West by 11½ games.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for McLovin Jr.? The Vancouver first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Vandals on top, 3-1. For the game, McLovin Jr. had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"This was a nice win for us," said Phillip. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
