Apex Win, 5-3, at Seattle
|
Indianapolis picked up a win at The Aquadome, bumping off the Seattle Sea Serpents, 5-3. Pitcher Calm Chicken was a major reason the Apex emerged victorious. Chicken, now 8-10, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Indianapolis is now 41-42. Seattle is 53-30.
Indianapolis used a well-timed hit by Edward Mackinlay to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Apex ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Mackinlay, "and then get after it again."
