Indianapolis Beats Seattle, 8-7
|
The Aquadome was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Indianapolis Apex and Seattle Sea Serpents.
The Indianapolis Apex withstood a fine game by Seattle designated hitter Ben Martin at The Aquadome, to upend the Sea Serpents, 8-7. Martin went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Felix Burgous, 2-6, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Picking up the save was Ollie Damra. He's now 1 for 2 in save chances.
Had Firefly Boy not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Boy hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Apex.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Boy.
Indianapolis is now 40-44, Seattle 36-48.
