Joe Random never let New Orleans get something going. The Providence right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Crabs to a 4-1 win. Random got the win, improving to 12-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Randy Colón, his 12th.

Cassius Considerations had a big run-scoring double for the Crabs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Providence leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Colby Koffman, who finished 3rd in the Legends in innings pitched with 179.1 in 2072, and swatted a double to left. It was his 26th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crabs ahead, 2-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said New Orleans manager .
