The inspired effort of Detroit second baseman Zen Bobrist was not enough to prevent a loss, 4-3, to the Nashville Stars. Bobrist was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The winning pitcher was 2071 Rookie of the Year Award winner Warren Peace. He tossed 101 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Early on, the Stars, at 10-4, have played an impressive brand of baseball.

Slate Grey dealt the Demons a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Nashville leading 3-2, Grey, who is tied for 2nd in the Champions with a 1.180 OPS, hit a full count sinker for a run-scoring single.
