Outer Banks beat Cancun on the strength of starting pitcher Brigham Irons's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-2. Irons, the winner, moves to 8-10. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The Outer Banks winning streak has reached 5 games.

The Toros had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Aviators going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Patrick Eshenbaugh came to the plate. Eshenbaugh hit a grand slam home run on a 1-0 cutter from Cancun hurler Jihmih Beniko. It was Eshenbaugh's 9th home run of the year.
