Good production from catcher Rusty Salmonarms helped the Death Valley Scorpions topple the New Orleans Rougarous, 7-2. Salmonarms belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Scorpions. The Scorpions, at 30-42, sit in third place in the Champions Conference West.

Salmonarms contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Death Valley in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Salmonarms took a screwball from Steven Slothsburg and stroked the home run to left-center. His 16th home run of the season allowed the Scorpions to leap in front, 3-2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Death Valley manager .
