McFly Jr. has 3 hits to Ignite Aviators Offense
|
Getting offensive support from Speedy McFly Jr., the Outer Banks Aviators topped the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-1. McFly Jr. went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Aviators. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jiggs Kingman. He tossed 110 pitches over 7.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The win boosted Outer Banks to 50-38.
With Outer Banks leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, McFly Jr. hit a knuckle curve from John Wittman for a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Aviators ahead, 3-0.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," McFly Jr. told the Outer Banks Times.
