Cancun got a big-time effort from pitcher Usada Pekora, but it wasn't enough to keep the Detroit Demons from winning the game, 4-3. Pekora threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Thorne Belfour, now 5-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. After today's action, Detroit sits at 39-35, while Cancun falls to 44-30.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Danger Dollarson to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Demons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This was a good win," said Dollarson.
