Slow drives in 3 runs in Aviators Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Outer Banks Aviators and Vancouver Vandals.
Good production from center fielder Bazooka Slow helped the Outer Banks Aviators topple the Vancouver Vandals, 7-0. Slow was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Aviators. Wombat Jones earned the win for Outer Banks. He lasted 6 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 9-8. Goro Shigeno earned the save for Outer Banks, his 5th.
With Outer Banks leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Slow hit a circle change from Chuck Nasty for a 2-run double. It was his 33rd double of the season and put the Aviators ahead, 3-0.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Aviators manager .
The win hiked the Outer Banks record to 49-40.
