Scorpions Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Sea Serpents, 5-4
The Death Valley Scorpions overcame a pretty good performance by Seattle left fielder Jim Hawkins, beating the Sea Serpents, 5-4, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Hawkins was 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The Scorpions keep rolling, raising their record to 9-5.

Laser Show went 1 for 3 for Death Valley. The 23-year old designated hitter had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kip Treadwell. It was his 7th RBI of the season.
