Brown Excels, But Sea Serpents Win
|
Seattle and San Antonio duked it out and the Sea Serpents came out victorious.
The San Antonio Sloths got a superb performance from center fielder Bartholomew Brown, but the Seattle Sea Serpents still won the game, 10-7. Brown went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Sam Nabring earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-2.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman David Doug came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing San Antonio pitcher Nathan Abel, he hit a full count slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 7-6.
"We'll savor this win," Doug told the Seattle Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
The victory puts Seattle at 21-54.
