Scorpions Reel Off Another Win
Death Valley Scorpions starter Billy TheKid had all his pitches working at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Death Valley win over the New Orleans Rougarous. TheKid, the winner, moves to 11-7. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Ray Xavier notched his 15th save in 18 chances.

Yvonne Escence dealt the Rougarous a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Death Valley leading 3-2, Escence, who finished 3rd in the Champions in on-base percentage with .394 in 2065, hit a 1-1 curveball for a 2-run double.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Death Valley manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."

The Scorpions, at 59-32, have now won 6 straight.
