Death Valley Scorpions starter Always A. Bummus was in fine form against the San Antonio Sloths at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, leading his team to a win, 5-1. With the win, Death Valley pushed its record to 42-35.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from left fielder Smalls. For the game, Smalls was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Death Valley a 2-0 lead.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Death Valley manager .
