Scorpions Dealt 4-2 Home Loss
|
San Antonio picked up a win at Cari Price Memorial Stadium, toppling the Death Valley Scorpions, 4-2. Pitcher Johnny Tatum was one of the reasons the Sloths triumphed. Tatum, the winner, moves to 11-4. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. With the victory, the Sloths upped their record to 45-33.
San Antonio catcher Tedford Woofington Jr. had a nice game. In the top of the first inning with two out, he belted a 2-run home run for the Sloths. It made the score 2-0, San Antonio. For the game, Woofington Jr. was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Tatum.
