Aviators Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
|
The Outer Banks Aviators dealt the New York Voyagers a 6-5 loss at Vaughn's House. Speedy McFly Jr. was the star on offense. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Cesar Lopez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Big Rooster took the loss. With the loss, New York is 11-4.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jerry Coleman came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing New York pitcher Mohn Jeans, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Outer Banks on top, 6-5.
"We take it day by day here," said McFly Jr., "and today was a good one for us."
