Indianapolis Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Yttef
The Vancouver Vandals weathered an outstanding game by Indianapolis first baseman Iesuhc Yttef to topple the Apex, 13-8. Yttef belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jackson Kidd picked up the save for Vancouver, his 4th of the year. Vancouver leads the Legends Conference West by 11 games.

The Apex had been locked in a 7-7 tie with the Vandals going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old designated hitter Atlas Sluggs came to the plate. Sluggs hit a 2-run home run on a 0-2 changeup from Indianapolis hurler Skyler Stevens. It was Sluggs's 19th home run of the year.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sluggs said.
