Scorpions Rally Late to Clip Boise
The Death Valley Scorpions scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Boise Raptors at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Death Valley pitcher Deviver Votto held his own in the contest. Ray Xavier, who finished 3rd in the Champions in saves with 14 in 2068, was the winner in relief. His record is now 8-4. The losing pitcher was Anne Dieu-le-Veut. Death Valley, at 57-39, is 2½ games up in the Champions Conference West.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, slugging third baseman Xicoyotl Montalbán had a real shot to win the game. Boise pitcher Anne Dieu-le-Veut was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Montalbán hit a run-scoring single. The Scorpions had a walk-off triumph.

"Deviver is pitching with a lot of determination and a lot of fire," said Death Valley manager .
