The home crowd had a good time watching the Death Valley Scorpions and New Orleans Rougarous get after it.

The New Orleans Rougarous picked up a win at Full Moon Stadium, knocking off the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-2. On the mound for New Orleans was right-hander Steven Slothsburg, who played a pivotal role in the win. Slothsburg picked up the win for New Orleans, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1.

The Rougarous got an important contribution from designated hitter Saad Fakhar, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-0 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Rougarous ahead, 4-0.

"Winning is contagious," said Fakhar. "We're looking forward to the next game."

New Orleans is off to a hot start at 12-3.
