Outer Banks turned a good effort from starter Brigham Irons into a win over the Boise Raptors at Hammond Park. The Aviators won the game, 4-2. Irons yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 10-10. Doc Holliday, credited with the save, is now 13 for 18 in save opportunities.
Bazooka Slow provided a timely hit. The Outer Banks designated hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Aviators on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Outer Banks manager called it "a pretty good win."
The Aviators improved their record to 44-54 with the win over Boise.
