Sea Serpents Come Back Late to Top Apex, 6-4
With third baseman Bookie Metts leading the charge, the Seattle Sea Serpents defeated the Indianapolis Apex, 6-4, at The Brickyard. Metts, who is tied for 7th in the Champions in stolen bases with 71, was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. Ivy de Vries earned the win to go to 11-11. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Kip Treadwell recorded the save, making him 14 for 16.

Metts had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-2 changeup from Skyler Stevens, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Sea Serpents a 5-4 lead. It was the 31st double of the year for Metts.

"Bookie is still learning," said Sea Serpents manager . "The sky's the limit for him."

Seattle now sits at 47-51, while Indianapolis falls to 46-52.
