Though he had a terrific game, Jackson Cheerios could not prevent his team, the Buffalo Surge, from absorbing a loss. Vancouver won the game, 6-3. Cheerios was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jackson Kidd claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 3-4. Vancouver is now 60-40, 13 games up in the Legends Conference West.
Atlas Sluggs, who is on pace to hit 22 home runs this season, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-2 with a walk.
"This was a nice win for us," said Sluggs. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
