Jacques-Jean Jr. Hits 2 home runs in Vandals Win
|
Jean-Jacques François Jacques-Jean Jr. was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Outer Banks Aviators. The left fielder went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Vancouver Vandals. Andy Beans got the win, improving to 9-8. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Jackson Kidd earned the save, his 7th.
Steven Strange, who finished 5th in the Legends in wins above replacement with 4.4 last year, helped out the Vancouver cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
In postgame comments to the Vancouver News, Strange said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The win gives Vancouver a season record of 56-44.
