The Indianapolis Apex topped the Cancun Toros, 6-5, at The Brickyard. Indianapolis second baseman Edward Mackinlay was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Indianapolis reliever Takeda Takahashi snagged the win, upping his record to 4-1. Samuel Smoltz shouldered the loss. Indianapolis now has a record of 60-42 with the win.

The Apex got a clutch hit from catcher Leon Rosenthal. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Apex.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Mackinlay.
