Surge Earn Late Win
|
The Buffalo Surge faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Taylor Adkins, but found a way to pull out the victory at Vaughn's House by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Adkins went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Buffalo reliever Max Lovehammer picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. GOAT TANK was tagged with the loss. With the win, Buffalo has a record of 46-57. New York falls to 72-31.
Buffalo used the timely hitting of Shrimp McDaniel to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Surge on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said McDaniel. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."
