Jingleheimer Schmidt goes 3-for-5 to Power Raptors Offense
|
The Boise Raptors defeated the Outer Banks Aviators, 11-4, at Hammond Park. John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt was a standout performer for Boise. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double, in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 5 he knocked in. Retsnomekalyag Kove earned the win for Boise. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-12. The third-place Raptors have a record of 36-53.
Boise center fielder Rhyno Legg contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 90th hit of the season and put the Raptors ahead, 5-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Legg. "And not try to do too much."
