Outer Banks Edges New York in Extra Innings
|
The Outer Banks Aviators downed the New York Voyagers, 2-1, at The Island. Stellar pitching by Jiggs Kingman had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the Legends in wins with 11, handcuffed his opponent all game. Outer Banks is 62-42 and New York, with the loss, 61-43.
Outer Banks got a knockout punch from Ángel de la Fuerte. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This place was rockin'," de la Fuerte said.
