McTater Powers Rougarous to 10-5 Win
|
The New Orleans Rougarous powered past the Seattle Sea Serpents, 10-5, at The Aquadome. Chorizo McTater was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. New Orleans pitcher Griff Manzer earned the win, hiking his record to 10-6. Talk O'Bell suffered the loss. Takeda Takahashi got the save, his 6th in 7 chances.
New Orleans used a well-timed hit by Air Yordong to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Rougarous ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Yordong.
With the victory, the Rougarous upped their record to 55-49.
