People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

Xicoyotl Montalbán knocked in 3 runs to help Death Valley beat Cancun, 8-7. Montalbán produced 1 single and 2 home runs. Death Valley reliever Vincent Heiderscheid picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Roquefort Cotswald shouldered the loss.

Lawn Gnomes was the walk-off hero for Death Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Scorpions right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"What a buzz," said Gnomes after it was over.

The Scorpions lead the Champions Conference West by 8 games.
