Aviators Suffer 8-7 Road Loss
Outer Banks third baseman Julio Ruiz Jr. was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Providence beat the Aviators, 8-7. Justin Ferb, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The Crabs, at 75-30, have a comfortable 16-game lead in their division.

The Crabs beat the Aviators with some clutch hitting. The single by JD Pants in the bottom of the seventh is a good example. With two down, Pants gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he came through with the big hit.

"We've got a great group of guys," Pants said, "and we're having fun right now."
