The New Orleans Rougarous topped the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-3, in Champions Conference action at Full Moon Stadium. The standout performance belonged to New Orleans pitcher and Strasbourg, France, native Maurice Bernard. Tim Westbrook, credited with the save, is now 13 for 15 in save opportunities. The defeat makes Death Valley 59-47.

Ozzie Robinson aided the New Orleans cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3.
