Death Valley Scorpions pitcher Xavier Pruitt whisked his team past the New Orleans Rougarous, 5-1. Death Valley is now 67-39. New Orleans is 41-65.
Pruitt kept the Rougarous under his thumb. He scattered 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 9. The right-hander upped his season record to 13-9.
